In a peak load, the number of VUs change between off peak and peak intervals. The test starts with Minimum Load VUs. Then after Minimum Load Duration concludes, the number of VUs increases to Maximum Load. After Maximum Load Duration the number of VUs goes back down to Minimum Load. This process continues until the test is over.
Peak load pattern can be used to detect how your system can sustain peak loads, and if there are any system or application operation issues such as memory leaks or stability problems. This type of test can also can be useful for checking whether the server recovers its normal behavior after a load peak.
You can optionally set the Wait for peak users to complete iteration? to extend peak intervals until completion of all iteration started by peak users. Otherwise the peak user iterations will be abandoned after the peak period elapsed.
