Emailing Results

When a test is complete, an external report can be automatically generated and emailed. The report will be zipped and attached to the email.

SMTP Settings

If the default email settings have been entered, they will be copied to every new test.

To view or edit the SMTP settings of the test, in the Continuous Testing section, select the SMTP settings property and click the ... button to bring up the Email Server Settings dialog.
Enter the SMTP settings (a), including the server, port, and tick the checkbox if your server requires SSL.
Enter the SMTP server credentials (c).
To send a test email (d), enter the recipient's email and click the Send Test Email button.
To restore from default email settings, click the Restore from settings button (d).
Click OK to save the settings.

Emailing report options

Email events and recipients are configured in the Continuous Testing section.

StresStimulus supports the following two email recipient lists:

All result recipients: A comma-separated list of email addresses in the Email recipients of test reports property.
Failed result recipients: A comma-separated list of email addresses in the Email recipients of the failed test reports property.

Mail address

The email address can be in the following formats:

Display Name <Email Address>
Email Address

Set the Email test result property (c) to the following values:

Never: The test report will never be emailed
Always: The test report will be emailed to the following recipient lists:
- On a successful test run: To All result recipients (a)
- On a failed test run: To All result recipients (a) and to Failed result recipients (b)
When the test fails: The test report will be emailed to the following recipient lists:
- On a successful test run: The test report will not be emailed
- On a failed test run: To All result recipients (a) and to Failed result recipients (b)

When the test is complete, StresStimulus will send an email to the recipient(s) an email with the subject StresStimulus Test Result and a zipped external report in an attachment.

Email Format

The email that each recipient will receive will have the following format:

Subject: StresStimulus Test Completion {Passed | Failed} - {test name} (the test name is the .ssoconfig filename)
Body: This automatic email with the attached performance test result was sent by StresStimulus.
Attachment: A zip file that contains the zipped report. The attachment name is {test run date and time}_{test run name}.zip (test run name is described here).
