Release date - January 5, 2024

Main Highlights

  1. Open Dashboard Functionality. StresStimulus now works with the open-source Times Series Database Platform InfluxDB, which integrates with 300+ plugins on multiple platforms , such as Grafana  and Sumo logic, for various dashboard monitoring implementations. StresStimulus can stream real-time performance testing metrics on local, remote, or cloud-based InfluxDB implementations that provide secure and instant access to monitoring continuous application Performance testing.   VM5L
  2. Testing more protocols. Now, you can test systems tiers utilizing a variety of communication and application layer protocols.  4TW5

  3. Continuous Testing entails the automatic execution of multiple calibrated low-impact tests continuously or with high frequency. It requires advanced role-based messaging to alert various groups of stakeholders about performance irregularities. Now, you can configure multiple distribution lists for granular alert delivery configuration. If any segment of an application starts underperforming, designated people in the organization will receive notifications from StresStimulus with a detailed report on discovered bottlenecks or failures.  75PJ

Testing more protocols

Added support for performance testing systems utilizing the following communication and application protocols: NH12

  1. SQL Server for performance testing of database transactions
  2. FTP for performance testing file upload and download applications
  3. SMTP for performance testing email applications
  4. LDAP for performance testing directory applications
  5. Architecture for supporting other communication and application protocols whose implementation can be optimized depending on the specifics of the testing environment.

Continuous Testing

  1. Ability to maintain the following default email notification lists on a controller:

    1. for sending messages about test successes and failures
    2. for sending messages only about test failures   4TW5
  2. Added two email notification lists in every test that can be used instead of the default list:

    1. for sending messages about test successes and failure

    2. sending messages only about test failures

    3. Email notification lists in every test can have custom SMTP settings instead of a single set for all tests. The user can independently modify SMTP settings in each test.

  3. The SMTP settings in each test are automatically derived from the SMTP template. The user can independently modify it in each test.  It simplifies creating custom SMTP settings from scratch.

  4. The content of each email list is automatically derived from the corresponding default list. The user can independently modify email lists in every test.

  5. Ability to quickly turn on and off email applications on the test level on both email lists (default is off).

Improved UI

The following areas of the UI are redesigned for more comfortable use and to prevent user errors: EX84.

  1. New, easy-to-use host remap UI
  2. New schema change UI
  3. New excluded host UI
  4. New excluded content-type UI

Installer that reduces deployment time

The redesigned installer simplifies and gives more flexibility with StresStimulus installation on a multiuser server.   9F9L

  1. Users are no longer required to have Admin privileges.
  2. Option to install StresStimulus for a single user or all machine users.
  3. Option for multiple server users to individually install StresStimulus.272

Cloud testing

  1. Option to connect to AWS-based load agent through its private IP Address. This enables distributed testing with a controller deployed in the AWS environment. Previously, AWS cloud testing only supported on-prem controllers.  F48G

  2. When auto-provisioning AWS cloud templates, added an action to specify custom AMI. It allows the use of preconfigured custom AMIs. Previously, only generic StresStimulus load agent AMIs were supported.   Y767

Enhanced Reporting

  1. In the test summary report, add the number of successful requests. 14B8

  2. Add reporting data column values to the error description to quickly identify what parameterization caused the error. G996
  3. Specify Test failure by the percentage of failed iterations. MCW7
  4. Option to exclude failed non-critical transactions from performance metrics. Previously, failed non-critical transactions always were included in the performance metrics. NU23

Miscellaneous

  1. Ability to import Authentication datasets from CSV files with custom delimiter, Excel files, SQL Server tables, or data from an ODBC source. Previously, only comma-delimited text files were supported.  WZJK

  2. After recording, see the list of ignored hosts. 7D5Q

  3. If a load agent doesn't have write permission to the MyDocuments folder, then a different directory is used. 6X21

  4. In the recorder log, add all entries for every host and path that was blocked using excluded hosts, and the exclusion pattern was used to exclude it. DWPL

  5. Improve auto-correlation for the latest versions of D365
