StresStimulus includes multiple text utilities to help with the following text tasks:

  • Comparison
  • Manipulation
  • Encoding/Decoding

Text comparer

To open the text compare tab, go to Tools -> Text Comparer in the main menu.

Paste (or type) text in the left and the right pane to compare. 

  1. The control will automatically compare the texts and highlight the differences.
  2. Enter text to find/highlight in the search box. Click the Next button (F3) to highlight the next instance. Click the Previous button (Shit + F3) to highlight the previous instance. 
  3. To Encode/Decode, select the encode/decode format algorithm, then click the appropriate Encode/Decode button.

    Supported formats

    Base64, Url (percent-encoding), HTML, Decimal.

  4. The context menu options:

    • Copy - to copy the highlighted text
    • Select All - to select all text
  5. The status line contains the number of characters, lines, and selected characters.

Text decoder

StresStimulus can decode selected text in the following areas:

To display the text decoder, select the text to decode in one of the controls mentioned above - right-click - and select the Decode selection option.

  1. The text decoder dialog will appear with the selected text in the control textbox.
  2. Select the format and click the Decode (or Encode) button. The text in the control textbox will be decoded/encoded accordingly. 

    Supported formats

    Base64, Url (percent-encoding), HTML, Decimal.

  3. Any encode/decode errors will be displayed in the bottom left corner.
